According to Moonalice legend, salmon all over Alaska are completing the long journey to their nesting grounds to spawn. It’s not just the distance that kills them. Bears and fisherman lurk around every bed.
Fortunately, the salmon on the Kenai Peninsula have an advantage not enjoyed by their brethren and sistren in other places: fine music. Today’s poster by Darren Brenner depicts DJ Doobie Moonalice, a confirmed bachelor salmon who spins vinyl 24x7 that can be heard from Homer to the top of Turnagain Arm. Next time you are in the water, check it out. DJ Doobie takes requests.
