Who Was There?
According to Moonalice legend, today’s poster by Lauren Yurkovich depicts the good side of Pacific Grove’s own PG Moonalice. As you can see, PG’s good side was very, very good. From her tipi here in the park, PG watched over Pacific Grove, protecting it from narrow-minded tourists and wayward tee shots. As great as she was, PG made a bad impression on the author Robert Louis Stevenson, who visited in 1879. After his visit, Stevenson said “I have never been in any place so stinky.” Evidently Stevenson was not aware of the iconic aroma of burning hemp. His loss.
