According to Moonalice legend, poster art is very important to our tribe and to this band. For our first concert ten years ago in Civic Center Park in San Francisco -- for a medical marijuana benefit -- our art director, Chris Shaw, created a poster of Alice being mooned by the Cheshire Cat. There has been at least one poster for every show since, with multi-poster sets for 4/20 and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. #1000 is a silk screen, created by Chris Shaw and printed by Gary Houston, that depicts Caterpillar Moonalice, who finds the present time so confusing she has no idea if she is coming or going. Fortunately, better days will come for Caterpillar and for us. One of these days, Caterpillar will take a long nap in a cocoon and then emerge as a beautiful butterfly. And we, the Moonalice tribe, will try to make the world a better place for everyone.
We're going to miss the burritos here, but hope to return to Felton under new ownership ...
Notes: Hallelujah dedicated to the memory of the Earl of Moonalice, Earl Stokes.
