Separately, they have made for amazing poster art for five Moonalice shows. Together, they align to form a magnificent five panel mural that their creator, Moonalice artist Dennis Larkins, has called “Dream Puzzle.”

The final mural measures 24 inches high X 7.5 feet wide and, as is typical of Dennis' phenomenal art for Moonalice, is painted in three-dimensional relief on panel.

The panels are named as follows, from left to right:

Panel 1: “Seeds of Change”

Pete Sears and "Dragon" on ABC 7 News!!!

It's a story 35 years in the making! Pete Sears "Dragon" bass, crafted from wood from the same tree as Jerry Garcia's "Tiger," should have had its debut at a Jefferson Starship concert in Germany. Instead, fate in the form of a riot intervened, during which the "Dragon" bass was stolen. On the 9th of May on the main stage of the BottleRock Napa festival, "Dragon" finally made it's debut with Pete and Moonalice!

Hear Pete describe how he got “Dragon” back in this interview with ABC 7 News.

Tom Lieber, luthier who fashioned Pete Sears "Dragon" bass, describes how Grateful Dead forum RUKIND.com was instrumental in its recovery!!!

It was cut from the same tree as Jerry Garcia's "Tiger!" Now, 35 years after it was stolen during a riot at a festival in Germany, Moonalice's Pete Sears has his bass back!

Here is the back story of how this came about in the words of Tom Lieber, the luthier at the Doug Irwin Custom Shop who fashioned the beautiful “Dragon” in 1976-77 under the Doug Irwin Shop name. While he was designing and building the Dragon bass, Tom also worked with Doug on the early designs of Jerry Garcia's “Tiger.”
