Moonalice Concert Posters By Dennis Larkins Featured in Exhibit in Hungary!

Artists have created more than 1,400 posters for Moonalice since the band played its first concert in May 2007. We are incredibly proud of the art created on our behalf. Thanks to Dennis Larkins, a large number of our posters found their way into an exhibit in Pecs, Hungary, called Rock Pop Underground. The exhibition will run until January 25 2025. Who Was There?

Dublin's Olympia Theatre hosted a unique collection of artists on Friday 21 June, a collective show of goodwill to help with medical costs for Aslan's Christy Dignam who is battling cancer. U2 took part from a studio in New York and the entire show was streamed live in venues around the world. MC for the night was the artist Guggi.

Along with U2, performing Aslan's 'This Is', the show featured performances from Bressie, Danny O'Reilly (The Coronas), members of Horslips, Ryan Sheridan, Paul Brady, Shane MacGowan, Mary Black, Don Mescall, Tom Dunne (Something Happens), Jerry Fish, Steve Wall (The Stunning), Gavin Friday, Mark Feehily, Paul Walsh (Royseven), The Riptide Movement, Jedward, Gavin James and Kiera Dignam.

All the performers handpicked their favorite song from the Aslan setlist and stepped into Christy's shoes for one night only. Venues in Dubai, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia, Canada, the UK and across Ireland carried the show live. The full list can be found on www.aslan.ie.

'With the gig selling out in a few hours a lot of fans who have supported the band for years were not able to get tickets.' said Aslan's Billy McGuinness. 'This type of gig will never happen again so its great to give people a chance to see it by streaming it live from the Olympia.'

Let's Rock The World One Tree At A Time!

As a band deeply committed to making a positive impact on our planet, we're excited to announce our collaboration with One Tree Planted, a fantastic non-profit organization dedicated to global reforestation efforts.

We believe in the power of music to inspire change, and we want to use our platform to help create a greener, more sustainable world. That's why we've launched our "One Follow = One Tree Planted" initiative on Spotify!

Here's how it works:

Acoustic Guitar Magazine: Barry, Roger and T’s play Nick and Woo Woo

Acoustic Guitar magazine asked us to show off some old guitars and play a couple of songs. It worked out really well. We played Nick of Time and Woo Woo. We hope you like this …

Commemorating the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival!!!

In May this year the Senate agreed, by unanimous consent, to designate the last weekend of June 2022 as a time to commemorate the first weekend of the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival!

In honor of the occasion Alexandra Fischer has created this wonderful commemorative poster featuring our very own Lester Chambers!!! Lester was the lead vocalist in the The Chambers Brothers who performed at the Harlem Cultural Festival and he now performs with Moonalice!!!

Moonalice Minute: Lester & Dylan Chambers (Episode 1)

Lester Chambers, with his son Dylan, talk to Ben Fong-Torres about how Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Average White Band and others didn't want to headline after The Chambers Brothers opened a show. Lester and Dylan continue to play the songs of The Chambers Brothers and much more as part of Moonalice.

Stay tuned to more "Moonalice Minute" episodes where the band talks about their past, present and future. https://www.moonalice.com/

Sisters & Brothers is the new Moonalice!!!

We started an experiment in August with five new members of the band: Erika, Chloe, and Rachel Tietjen (T Sisters) and Lester and Dylan Chambers (The New Chambers Brothers). The experiment has been an incredible success ... giving the band a new direction and new energy. We could not be more excited about it. Our plan is to be a ten-person band in 2020:

Dylan Chambers - vocals
Lester Chambers - vocals
Jason Crosby - keyboards
Roger McNamee - guitar, bass, and vocals
John Molo - drums
Pete Sears - bass, guitar, and vocals
Barry Sless - lead guitar and pedal steel

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass - A Privilege To Play

"Getting to play at all is a privilege…getting to play a big gig like HSB is just really something else,” said Roger McNamee of Moonalice whose set will be on Saturday at 12:20pm on the Towers of Gold Stage. “There’s a guy named Warren Hellman, an investor who was just really successful. His philanthropy has been all about making San Francisco a better place to live…so we can go see the arts, have an education, enjoy the parks and things like that. When he died, in his will he left a trust to support the Bluegrass Festival, which he has been paying for since it started fifteen years ago.
