Doobie Decibel System Band and Midnight North Northeast Tour

As the Doobie Decibel System Band gets ready to head out on an 8 show Northeast Tour with Midnight North, here’s a bit of the back story about how the DDS Duo and the Band version of DDS came to be.

As Roger McNamee described it in this interview with “Live For Live Music” just before the first DDS Band tour last year, “We are so lucky in the San Francisco Bay area because Bobby Weir, Phil Lesh each have a venue out here. Sweetwater for Bobby and Terrapin Crossroads for Phil, and they have each created an environment that encourages local musicians to come and experiment.”

Thoughts and Prayers

Roger McNamee has written a new song: "Thoughts and Prayers" ... dedicated to the victims of gun violence.

Thoughts & Prayers
Words and music by Roger McNamee

News alerts cut through the noise
Bodies broken like fragile toys
Shooters rule another day (while)
Politicians say it’s time to pray

Every day another story
Images both sad and gory
Bullets rule another day (while)
Politicians say it’s time to pray

Chorus
Take your thoughts and prayers
And scatter them across the sea
If thoughts and prayers are all you have
Then stay away from me
Stay away from me ….

Bread & Roses is a philanthropic organization that produces more than 600 concerts a year for people who can't get out: people in prison, hospitals, nursings homes and the like. They produce our shows at Delancey Street, veterans hospitals and similar venues. B&R gave us an award this year for posters that our artists have created for their events. We love Bread & Roses and hope you will join us in supporting their mission.
