According to Moonalice legend, the Swiss chemist Dr Albert Hoffmann first experimented with LSD on April 19, 1943, 81 years ago today. He rode his bicycle home, demonstrating both the wisdom not to drive and the courage to do anything at all. Can you imagine being the first person to experience LSD? It is impressive that Dr H lived to tell the tale. And thank goodness he did.
Today’s poster by Alexandra Fischer was discovered deep in the Moonalice legend, under a massive pile of blotter art. The text on the back of the original described it as a selfie photograph that Dr Hoffman took in a mirror after his ride home. Woah. If you have ever seen a picture of Dr Hoffmann, you can imagine his surprise. There is no substitute for quality.
