Welcome to the Gathering of the Tribe!
According to Moonalice legend, it is 4/20 everywhere. In a world gone mad, we all need something we can rely on. Your mileage may vary, but for us 4/20 is how this band knows it’s all going to be okay.
Many of you know the backstory of 4/20, but I am going to share the highlights for those who do not. In 1971, five students at San Rafael High School began a ritual that survives to this day. They called themselves The Waldos. We owe them so much. And we are excited that four of the Waldos are here tonight, spending 4/20 with us. On behalf of everyone, everywhere, we thank the Waldos for making life more fun.
We have a set of 23 posters for you tonight that we will distribute after the show. There are masterpieces in this set, including a tribute to Alton Kelley by Stanley Mouse.
But we also have this screen print by Alexandra Fischer for sale at the merch desk. It depicts Job Moonalice, the tribe’s patron saint of rolling papers. Job is French and this is her first Gathering of the Tribe. She is very excited about meeting the Waldos. And after the show she encourages you to join her in looking for the folks from Full Moon Farms, who will once again be distributing treats.
Notes: Mookie Siegel played keyboards.
